Gogeldrie Weir

Gogeldrie Weir is an irrigation dam built in 1959, provides essential water for the Coleambally irrigation area, and also contributes water to the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Areas.

As well as its primary role of water supply, Gogeldrie Weir is also a magnet for tourists with its water sports, picnic areas and camping grounds. It's the perfect spot for families who enjoy a camping holiday! The area offers a large grassy sports field, barbecue facilities, toilets and showers, and on-site cabins for those who want a little more luxury. Private functions can be held in the large shed on site, which boasts a full kitchen as well as tables, chairs and a fireplace, and disabled facilities. Bookings are essential.

Gogeldrie Weir is also one of the best sports along the Murrumbidgee to go fishing. There is a boat ramp to launch your boat so while you fish you can enjoy the scenery and abundant wildlife.

If you’re feeling more energetic you can launch a kayak or paddle board, or even go water skiing! Kayaks are available for hire, and guided kayak tours are also available by appointment. A children’s inflatable water-play area is also available seasonally.

On dry land you can work up an appetite by playing cricket, football, basketball or table tennis, with equipment available for hire. Fly a kite, throw a frisbee, or just let the kids run around playing catch — whatever your favourite pastime, you’ll find plenty of space to have fun and relax, with a barbecue and drinks with friends afterwards!
