Leeton Shire is home to two award-winning wineries to tempt you, each with a cellar door offering tastings and often special deals too. The Riverina is the largest wine grape growing region in New South Wales, producing about 300,000 tonnes of quality winegrapes every year. The Riverina grows about 40 varieties of grapes, but Chardonnay, Semillon and Shiraz are the most common varieties, comprising about 54% of the region’s vines. Botrytis Semillon wines are produced in these excellent wine growing conditions, and the Riverina has deservedly established an international reputation for its dessert wines.
