Murrami

Where history meets agriculture.

About halfway between Leeton and Griffith lies the small village of Murrami. It may be tiny, but Murrami offers some fascinating historical and agricultural insights into the region.

The area’s rice production received accolades when Peter Randall, a pioneer of organic rice farming in the region, was entered for the 2016 From the Earth category in the NSW Produce Awards by Icebergs (Bondi) chef Monty Koludrovic, who was very impressed by the flavour and texture of his rice.

Nearby, Libby Bailey began restoring antique rocking horses as a hobby, but her interest soon developed into much more as her talents were recognised internationally.
