The small township of Yanco is situated 8km south of Leeton and was the starting point for development of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area (MIA).

An original natural spring fed waterhole which was part of North Yanko Station Formerly one of the pastoral holdings owned by the late Sir Samuel McCaughey, now an excellent area for family BBQs and picnics with shaded areas and play equipment facilities for children. - Murrumbidgee River and MIA State Forest Drives
