Since 1982, when Leeton Shire Council was first invited to enter the
Keep Australia Beautiful Council Tidy Towns Competition, the Shire has
won a number of awards.

1982 – Best Tourist Town
1984 – Overall State Winner
1990 – Inducted into Hall of fame, Best Tourist Town in Hall of Fame
1996 – Local Government Award
2001 – Runner-up Premier’s Award for Best Overall Winner in 20 years
2002 – Spirit of the Bush
