Swimming in Leeton Shire

The sunny days of the Riverina’s warmer months make swimming an attractive pastime. Leeton Shire is spoilt for choice with two public pools as well as a number of swimming spots along the Murrumbidgee River. See Council's website for current open hours.

Leeton Swimming Pool

The largest pool in the Shire is located in Palm Avenue and allows even small children a chance to swim with both a toddler and a wading pool as well as an Olympic-sized pool, waterslide and barbecue facilities.

Leeton Swimming pool is open on weekdays, weekends and during the holidays to the public as well as morning sessions for those eager swimmers. Occasionally the Leeton Swimming Pool will be closed to the public due for a swimming carnival; while other times some lanes of the main pool may also be closed to the public for use by Leeton’s local Swimming Club members during morning and afternoon opening times.

Call Leeton Swimming Pool on (02) 6953 2087 or visit the facility at the corner of Palm Avenue and Grevillia Street.

Whitton Swimming Pool

The village of Whitton also has its own local pool, which covers a distance of 25 metres with six lanes. It also provides a wading pool and barbeque area for social occasions and family activities.

Other spots

Many folk relax along the Murrumbidgee River at places such as Coleambally Ski Beach, Middle Beach and Euroley Beach. These are great places to swim in moving water or indulge in recreational activity using boats, such as water skiing.
