There are many unsealed roads to explore through the river red gum
forest which grows alongside the Murrumbidgee River between Yanco and
Narrandera.
The forest is home to many varieties of birdlife, as well as
possums, platypus and water rats. All animals and plants are protected.
A four-wheel drive vehicle isn’t essential as long as there haven’t
been recent rains as the roads are for dry weather only. Barbecues and
rubbish pits are provided at many of the beaches.
Be sure to get a map from the Leeton Visitor Information Centre so
you
can find the sites of interest and ensure you don't get lost.
